We are learning more and more everyday about ways to connect virtually with our congregation! Today, we are bringing a new tool for all of us to use for joining or initiating meetings.
The application is called Zoom, and it allows small or large groups to meet via PC, Mac, cell phone or tablet, or telephone. Zoom is a free application as long as your meetings are under 40 minutes. After 40 minutes, you will be disconnected or charged. Therefore, you will need to set a time when you start your meeting and stick to the free limitation.
For journey groups, Bible studies, group meetings, etc., Zoom allows us to be together visually or just via audio. Either way, we can gather as a group and have discussions.
When you are invited to a meeting, the host will send you the telephone number and a meeting ID to enter the meeting room. You just need to click on the link your host sends and follow the instructions once you get to the site. It is very easy to do.
If you plan on being a host, there are more detailed instructions. Just contact Derrice Combs ([email protected]), and she will send you the host instructions.
Zoom is easy to use, and we will be using it more and more as we learn new ways of communicating during this viral outbreak. So, Camp, let’s ZOOM!
