Entrance into Prayer: Take five slow, deep, centering breaths acknowledging Christ’s presence with you.
Ever present God, you taught us that the night is far spent and the day is at hand. Grant that we may ever be found watching for the coming of your Son. Save us from undue love of the world, that we may wait with patient hope for the day of the Lord, and so abide in him, that when he shall appear, we may not be ashamed; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen (UM Book of Worship 254)
Scripture Reading: Use this week’s Lectionary reading (see below). Spend a moment after reading the scripture reflecting and listening to what God is saying. This would be a good time to journal your reflections.
- Monday Old Testament Reading
- Tuesday Epistle Reading
- Wednesday Gospel Reading
- Thursday Read the Sermon Passage
- Friday Re-read a passage of your choosing.
Prayer: God is with us, God is our shelter in the surrounding darkness. In uncertain times, help us labor on, love on, in faith awaiting your purpose.
Each day you are encouraged to explore using the selected Psalm reading as a prayer as you pray through Camp UMC’s weekly prayer list and pray for:
- Your family and friends
- The people of our Camp UMC community
- Our neighbors of Brunswick County
- Those suffering and in trouble
- The world, its peoples, and its leaders
- The Church universal
The Lord’s Prayer
Eternal God, in your providence you made all ages a preparation for the kingdom of your Son. Make ready our hearts for the brightness of your glory and the fullness of your blessing in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (United Methodist Book of Worship 249)
