The Outreach Team / Meals-on-Wheels needs your help baking turkeys (that will be provided by the team) on Wednesday, November 21st. Sharing your time is a blessing for YOU! Please cook and deliver the turkey to the Shallotte Presbyterian Church…also, if you are free on Thanksgiving Day to help with the cooking and packing to make this a special day for those in need! Starting November 23rd, 2018, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Camp will be offering a simple evening meal to those of our neighbors needing a hot dinner. It is especially hurtful to know that some of our community children fall into this category. The meal will consist of soup, a sandwich, fruit, cookies/dessert and milk. The food will be provided by and hosted by Camp members and all will be welcomed with a warm friendly smile as they enter into Camp’s Kitchen. If you feel led to participate in this ministry, please contact Brenda Register at 910-287-6137. If no answer, please leave a message. May God bless all who come our way as well as those who serve.
BFA Christmas packing /distribution starts on November 26th. This is a 4-week process, so help is needed during the weeks of November 26th through December 19th, 20th, and 21st. Many volunteers are needed. Contact Charles Jackson, Program Manager Brunswick Family Assistance (910) 754-4766 Ext. 103 to volunteer. In addition to volunteering with the packing and distribution of the Christmas program, you can sponsor children 12 years old and younger and seniors 60 years and older. Contact Charles Jackson for more information.
SBIC, the organization that coordinates the Food Pantry, is collecting money to pay for 150 Christmas dinners. A donation of $20 covers most of the expense for an entire family. If you would like to provide Christmas dinner for a Brunswick County family, please write a check to SBIC, enter “Christmas Dinners” on the memo line, and place it in the offering by Dec 9. You may also place cash in an offering envelope and designate it for Christmas Dinners. Thank you for your compassion and generosity!
